The Lignocellulosic Biorefinery Network (LBNet) is a Phase I  Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council Network in Industrial Biotechnology and Bioenergy (BBSRC NIBB). LBNet is an active community of industrial practitioners and leading academics dedicated to creating economic value by developing novel chemicals, materials and fuel using lignocellulosic biomass instead of petroleum-derived inputs. LBNet provides both access to a range of funding to kick-start innovation in the sector, and organises events.

LBNet provides access to a range of  funding to kick-start innovation in the sector, and organises collaborative events:

  • £10,000 in “Business Interaction Vouchers” to encourage initial collaborations between industry and academia
  • Up to £50,000 in project initiation funding to help identify and scope commercial and scientific challenges
  • A programme of consortium-building events to facilitate access to external  funds such as the “Industrial Biotechnology Catalyst” call and “Horizon 2020”

Joining LBNet can get world-class researchers working to make your business more sustainable and competitive.
